Catherine Cuellar

For more than 15 years, I have launched and led transformational initiatives for private, nonprofit, and public organizations in regulated industries. I develop leaders, strengthen communities, and increase capacity through strategic communications and good governance.

As Director of Communications, Outreach & Marketing for the ninth-largest U.S. city of Dallas, Texas, in four years I evolved my team from a 20-person public information office into a 30-member full-service in-house marketing and creative services agency within a $4 million annual budget — launching a Language Access Center of Excellence, opening an $11 million studio without tapping general funds, establishing a paid apprenticeship program for local public school students, and creating award-winning multichannel content.

While serving as the Dallas Arts District Foundation executive director, I balanced the budget and doubled revenues by creating a Public Improvement District, advocating for new state funding, and co-founding the Global Cultural Districts Network.

For five years at Oncor Electric Delivery, I was the lead spokesperson during the century-old utility’s $5 billion modernization.

I find common ground to unite varied stakeholders and solve complex challenges. I am also a storyteller and host on multimedia platforms including TEDx and The Writers Studio from KERA & PRX. I enjoy being a mentor, coach, and sponsor to developing leaders.
