SVP Spring Gathering – Save the Date – April 24th
The Spring Gathering is your opportunity to drill down on a topic that is vital to thriving organizations and communities. In 2014 we’ll focus on Leadership. Strong and strategic leadership by individuals and within organizations leads to a continuity of vision and strategy that creates a highly effective and efficient organization – and ultimately, greater influence within the public, private and philanthropic sectors in your community.
This full-day workshop will be facilitated by Heather McLeod Grant, co-author of Forces for Good: The Six Practices of High-Impact Nonprofits, formerly with the Monitor Institute, and now principal of McLeod-Grant Advisors.
We’ll start the day focused on personal leadership development, exploring best-in-class resources, tools and practices to expand your leadership skills. Several exercises will reinforce the principles behind strategic leadership.
Later you’ll have the opportunity to begin crafting a leadership development plan for your organization. This will include the why and how behind cultivating emerging leaders, identifying existing community leaders who would fit well in the SVP Network “tribe”, and creating individual leadership development plans for your staff.
You’ll leave with:
• Essential, best-in-class tools for personal leadership development
• The foundation of a leadership development plan for your organization
This session is designed for:
• Organization Founders
• Current, Past and Incoming Board Chairs, Officers and Members
• Committee Chairs
• Lead Partners
• Executive and Management-Level Staff
Mark your calendars now! Registration opens in January. (Information gathered from the Social Venture Partners Network blog.)
