In this SVP Dallas Workshop, we will listen and learn from SVP Dallas Partners Dustin Joost, Lisa Evans Weaver, Dee Brown, Michelle Riddell, Dana Juett Residency Alum Brianna Adams, and Mary Elyse Farah from Celanese Foundation as they discuss how corporate social responsibility can result in positive interactions and results between corporations and the communities they interact with, and how businesses have the power and resources to do more alongside nonprofits and local governments. In a time when corporate values and principles have perhaps become one of the most important buying criteria for consumers at large, they will examine how companies can take a stand, act, and expand social justice.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is self-regulated and there is no obligation for businesses to create a positive impact for people or incorporate long-term social impact strategies. Yet, the current pandemic has magnified inequities, and we have seen a social crisis erupt. Socially aware consumers and employees are pushing companies to do better and make decisions aligned with the morals and principles they talk about. Communities will stand with companies that help them during these turbulent times, but CSR efforts can also be misconstrued and backfire. CSR is being put to the test and can change the path of businesses forever. Join us and be a part of this conversation about how businesses can do well by doing good and improve the lives of people.
