The 2015 Social Innovation Speaker Series continues with former NYC Recycling Czar and Co-Founder and CEO of the Closed Loop Fund, Ron Gonen. This luncheon takes place against the backdrop of opening day of Earth Day Texas. Attendees are encouraged to make plans to arrive early or stay and enjoy the other events and activities of opening day – Earth Day Texas runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Closed Loop Fund was formed to provide municipalities zero interest loans and private firms engaged in public-private partnerships access to capital at below market rates in order to spur investment in municipal recycling programs. Ron has been a recipient of a number of environmental and business awards including being recognized as a ‘Champion of the Earth’ by the United Nations Environment Program which is the highest distinction for environmental protection given by the United Nations and the Medal of Excellence from Columbia University which recognizes alumnus under the age of 45 for excellence in scholarship, public service and professional life. Ron is Adjunct Professor at Columbia Business School since 2010 and was the recipient of the Social Enterprise Teaching Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2012.
