Latino Leadership & Local Economy
Latino leadership has shaped the history of Dallas and continues to move our city forward. From business to politics to art, the talents of Latino leaders have brought progress and growth to every sector of our economy and beautifully enriched our culture.
It is only more important that strong leaders continue to emerge from our Latino communities and share their gifts with our city as we enter a new chapter in our development. Despite being the fastest growing population in Dallas, Latinos remain underrepresented in leadership positions and continue to face challenges to upward mobility. Education and economic opportunity are central to progress.
Join us as local leaders and agents of change share wisdom from their own lives and illuminate how they see Latino leadership developing in Dallas. We will hear from:
Dr. Michael Hinojosa, Superintendent of Dallas Independent School District
Don Perez, VP of Global Real Estate Business Resiliency for JPMorgan Chase and Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Miguel Solis, Dallas ISD Trustee and President of the Latino Center for Leadership Development
Monica Lira Bravo, Owner and Managing Attorney at Lira Bravo Law, PLLC and Trustee at Dallas County Community College District
This event is hosted at Mercado369 in Oak Cliff, a gallery offering a unique cultural experience through its handpicked textiles, art, sculpture, and jewelry from artisans across Latin America.
